I’m not someone who lets my current skills hold

I’m not someone who lets my current skills hold me back from doing something adventurous that I want to do.

Last year, at age 29 I learned how to ski thanks to a local hill in Minnesota offering lessons.

Yesterday, Brock (who has been skiing since he was like 4 years old)
took me skiing for the first time in the mountains.

I was scared, yeah, I usually am when doing adventurous things.

At one point,
Brock chuckled at the top of the hill at the kids shredding down without a care,
& us lingering at the top of the run so that I could breathe before my descents.

When I breathe intentionally,
I am in my body & out of my head.

Brock was a fantastic teacher.
I fell in a little more in love with him.
He was patient, kind, & insightful.
I felt so safe & cared for.
I learned so much, improved a ton, & had a blast with my bestie.

So moral of my little story, don’t hold yourself back from doing what you want to do.
It’s ok to be bad at things.
Take things slow & you’ll improve. 💖

Hidden away in a canyon not to far from where I sit now.

As a seasoned hiker & outdoor enthusiast,
It can be easy to forget all the little tips we’ve picked up over the years…
Techniques, what to wear, wilderness safety, etc.

For the last few years, through winter hikes, snowshoe adventures, & whitewater rafting, I’ve taken many people that are new to outdoor adventures out into the wilderness.

I try to be cognizant of all the little tips & tricks that may not be so obvious to someone who is starting from square one.

After all, over & over, I’ve been that new person, confused by the minutiae & figuring it out as I go.

I’m an adult, learning how to adventure outside because it fills my heart.

If you’re new to adventuring,
I hope to help make your adventures a little easier & a little more fun.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this last year.

I feel healthier & more joyful than I have in years.

My relationship with Brock is stronger than it’s been in years & we’ve had so much fun!

We moved to a whole new state & bought our dream land. (It was 1000% worth living in a rented cabin & motel annnd all the stomach aches from Anxiety & eating like 💩)

We brought home our newest family member, Orvie. 🐶

After taking time off of teaching yoga, I am back to teaching in studio!

I became a white water raft guide even though it scared the shit out of me.

We’ve spent countless moments outside exploring with smiles on our faces. 💖

2022, thank you for being the reset that I needed.
I feel like myself again. 💗

As many of you know,
I LOVE hiking- especially alone.

Living in Grizzly Country hasn’t been easy from a hiking stand point.
Finding friends & creating plans to go out can be challenging for me-
I’m a spontaneous hiker.

Day 1 of hiking with my high school bestie has been an absolute dream.

I’m so happy that I’ve been able to show her what makes Cody so special
(hint: views, people, & activities are it)

So let’s go hiking-
I promise it’s stunning, the people are kind, & my dogs would love to cuddle with you!
